Kings ride perfect PK to win over Langley
PRINCE GEORGE — It was not the cleanest of games but a win is a win as the Prince George Spruce Kings snapped a three-game losing skid, defeating Langley 4-2 Friday night at the Rolling Mix Concrete Arena.
Finlay Williams opened the scoring late in the first period, his ninth of the season. Nicholas Poisson earned a primary assist on that goal and later added the game-winner with under three minutes left in the third period for the Kings. He also added an empty netter to seal the deal.
Prince George went 2/8 on the powerplay with Poisson’s marker and Haydn Delorme tucking his first as a King in the middle frame. On the other side of the puck, PG was a perfect 7/7 while down a man. They say your goalie is your best penalty killer and that rung true with Carter Woodside, who turned away 31 of 33 in the winning effort.
The Spruce Kings improve to 15-24-2-3 with the win. Next up for PG is a trip to Coquitlam to kick off a three game road swing on Wednesday.
