City says all-time high reached for building permits in 2019
PRINCE GEORGE–Building permits were up in the City in 2019, by 20 percent.
The City had announced back in November that permit values had already reached $193.76 million, surpassing the previous all-time one-year high of $186.38 million in 2018.
But November and December added more than $30 million bringing the total for 2019 to $223.1 million. The total number of building permits issued in 2019 reached an all-time high of 611, up from 515 issued in 2018.
According to the City, the total included $206.4 million of private sector investment amounting to about 93 percent of the total permit values for the year–another record-breaking number.
