PRINCE GEORGE–School Districts across BC have announced the cancellations of trips abroad for spring break and Prince George is following suit.

Board Chair, Tim Bennett told CKPG News that three trips to Europe had been planned by various high schools in Prince George–two to Italy which have since been cancelled and one to London which is still planned.

“School’s are typically a hot bed for various germs over the course of the year.”–Tim Bennett, SD57 Board Chair

The World Health Organization (WHO) released data last Monday in regards to cases of COVID-19 across the world, saying that the number of confirmed cases sat at 1,689 and the UK at 36.

Bennett says that there are processes in place to ensure that high touch locations are kept clean. It’s no surprise that families may have planned travel over spring break and if that’s the case, Bennett says parents should educate themselves and their children on preventative measures.
