Trudeau may recall parliament to get financial help to Canadians
Mar 17, 2020 | 10:00 AM
OTTAWA — Prime Minister Justin Trudeau may recall Parliament briefly so the government can pass legislation to get financial help to Canadians affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
He isn’t ruling out using the Emergency Measures Act as a tool to protecting Canadians from the spread of the virus.
The prime minister is encouraging everyone to stay home where possible in order to help frontline health-care workers do their jobs and protect neighbours and vulnerable people in the community.
Starting tomorrow, all Parks Canada sites will shut down.
