PRINCE GEORGE—The City of Prince George is closing civic playgrounds and fenced dog parks due to ongoing concerns surrounding COVID-19.

Recreation facilities that would normally have re-opened earlier in the year such as Masich Place Stadium, sport fields and ball diamonds, skate parks and hard surface courts will not be re-opened until at least May 30th says the City in a release.

The decision to close civic parks and fenced dog parks will be put in place as of today, April 3. The city says that their actions align with the current Provincial Public Health guidelines relating to social distancing and orders limiting public gatherings.

Signs will be visible at the affected facilities indicating their closure.
