Kings reflect on the anniversary of their Championship win

It was the culmination of an incredible ride in the BCHL playoffs as one year ago today (Friday) the Kings hoisted the Fred Page Cup.

“Being on such a run it was kind of funny and entering Game 4 in Vernon you’re thinking what if we lose and we can win it on home ice, but you knew going into that game that these boys weren’t going to lose that game,” explained Business Operations Manager Kyle Anderson, who was calling the away games on the radio for the team.

Most members of the Championship club did not return this season, but for the handful that did, they look back at that moment as one of the highlights of their career.

“Last year we had a phenomenal team,” stated 2020 Captain Nolan Welsh, who was a part of the Championship squad in 2019.
