OTTAWA—Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s daily COVID-19 update was a bit different today (Apr.20) addressing the mass shooting that occurred in Nova Scotia in place of the pandemic.

Among the 17 dead was an RCMP officer, Const. Heidi Stevenson, Trudeau thanked the bravery of all RCMP officers from coast to coast.

As gatherings across the country have been prohibited due to the possibility of COVID-19 transmission, funerals will not be held for the victims.

The Prime Minister made note of a virtual vigil that will be held on Friday in memory of all the victims.
