PG man arrested and charged for break and enter and arson

PRINCE GEORGE—A man is in custody after forcing his way into a home and lighting a shed on fire.

Prince George RCMP say that just before 8 p.m. on Sunday, April 19th they received a report of a disturbance on the 7800 block of Kelly Rd. South.

According to police, the suspect had forcibly entered a neighbouring residence, was assaulting another male and had lit a shed on fire.

When police arrived they arrested the man, PG Fire Rescue attended the scene and extinguished the fire.

31-year-old Daniel James Wingfield of Prince George has been charged with the following offences:

  • Assault
  • Uttering threats to cause bodily harm (2 counts)
  • Uttering threats to damage property
  • Arson to property
  • Break and enter to commit an offense
  • Mischief to property

Wingfield has been remanded in custody and will appear in court this afternoon (Apr.20).

Police say the investigation is continuing.
