PRINCE GEORGE – “Every day is Earth Day.”

Those are the words of Terri McClymont of REAPS.

Today is the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, celebrating the health of the planet. Crews are out today cleaning up the REAPS compound, gearing up to harken in the new season.

For McClymont, the COVID-19 pandemic has created some unexpected for Mother Nature.

“We’re seeing the Alps for the first time, we’re seeing the Himalayas. We’re seeing a whole bunch of things. We’re seeing water clean up, we’re seeing pollution dissipate. The Earth is bouncing back and She’s bouncing back quickly.”

She says some of her work in light of the quarantine has to be done virtually, but she says check out recycling@reaps.org or call 250-561-7334 to find out all the fun things you can do to make the planet we call home a healthier place.
