Flood threat leads to tactical evacuations in the Cariboo

WILLIAMS LAKE — Flooding has prompted the Cariboo Regional District to issue an evacuation order in the Milburn Lake Road area.

One property is affected and the residents of the home have already been tactically evacuated.

The CRD has also issued another evacuation order for one property in the Borland Creek – 150 Mile House area.

The CRD says due to the immediate danger caused by the flooding, affected residents have already been tactically evacuated.

The CRD strongly encourages its residents to register for the Cariboo Chilcotin Emergency Nofication System to receive a text, call or email regarding evacuation alerts and orders.

Flooding forced the cities of Quesnel and Williams Lake to declare local states of emergency on Friday.

It also follows the evacuation of five homes in the CRD region on Friday as well.
