No ice, no problem for NBCCS

The Covid-19 pandemic has forced everyone to change things in their everyday life and adapt.

For the Northern BC Centre for Skating, they are no different.

In a normal year, skaters would be competing all the way up until the Victoria Day long weekend. With on ice practice then wrapping up at the beginning of June.

However, this year they have been off the ice since early March and have had to find ways to adapt and continue to provide guidance to young figure skaters.

As a result, they not only created a blog for their skaters which they can interact with daily with challenges and information, but they do zoom practices with their coaches 3 times a week.

For NBCSS, their summer camp season begins at the beginning of July.

However, at this time they are unsure of when they could be potentially returning to the ice as B.C looks to try and re-open and get things back to normal.

Best case scenario, skaters could be back on the ice as early as the beginning of July.

However, worst case scenario, skaters may have to wait until some time in September.
