UPDATE: 4 new cases of COVID-19 in B.C., no deaths

VICTORIA— Only four new cases of COVID-19 were reported in today’s (June 2) COVID-19 daily update by Provincial Health Officer, Dr. Bonnie Henry and Health Minister, Adrian Dix.

No new cases were reported in the Northern Health Region, the north remains at 64 cases.

Cases by Health Region:

  • Vancouver Coastal Health: 904
  • Fraser Health: 1,311
  • Vancouver Island Health: 127
  • Interior Health: 195
  • Northern Health: 64

There is now a total of 2,601 test positive cases in the province, with only 207 being active cases.

No new deaths were reported over the past 24 hours.

Of the active cases 31 people are currently in hospital and eight of those are in ICU.

Dr. Henry and Minister Dix announced that five outbreaks in the healthcare system have been declared over. Four of those in long-term care facilities and one in acute care.

The acute care facility whose outbreak has been confirmed over, was at the Abbotsford hospital where 10 healthcare workers had been affected by the virus.
