Logging truck driver survives collision with train just off Highway 97

QUESNEL — A logging truck driver suffered minor injuries today after his truck collided with a train north of Quesnel today.

Quesnel RCMP Cpl. Richard Weseen says the collision occurred at approximately 12 o’clock in the afternoon off of Highway 97.

“A logging truck driver turned off of Highway 97 just north of Dunkley Lumber onto Naver Creek Road, crossed the railway tracks and collided with a freight train that was travelling south,” he says.

“The logging truck was flipped on its side with a fully loaded trailer of logs. The driver was transported to hospital in Quesnel with minor injuries.”
