VANDERHOOF—Get ready for a smooth ride.

A 19 km section of Highway 16 will be resurfaced near Vanderhoof. The road resurfacing project will start at Engen and run east, ending at the west end of Vanderhoof.

The $1.2 million project is part of the Province’s plan to resurface roads in northern B.C. this summer. A release from the Ministry of Transportation explains how sealcoating is the most common type of road resurfacing done on highways across B.C. and is the most cost-effective way of resurfacing roads.

Once the project begins, drivers can expect some minor delays and, at times, single alternating-lane traffic. The resurfacing of this stretch of highway is expected to take a week.
