Busy Week: Terrace RCMP receive 277 calls
TERRACE—A busy week for police in Terrace, with 277 calls for service between July 20-26—13 more than the previous week.
One of those calls included a man being tracked down and ticketed for leaving the scene of an accident. On July 20, RCMP say they received a report of a black car speeding on Old Lakelse Lake Drive, then sliding off the road and crashing into the bush and trees. A person in the area attempted to help the driver, who appeared to be unharmed, however, the driver fled the area after the helper would not drive him away from the scene.
The car was towed from the area, and its registered owner was later located and served a violation ticket for leaving the scene of an accident.
Another incident included a man being taken to hospital after police received a report of people yelling and one person on the ground. Police attended the scene on Emerson Street and Lakelse Avenue in Terrace. When they arrived a group of people quickly dispersed except for two women and a man on the ground. Police say the man had clear injuries and was taken to hospital, an investigation continues.
