Qualifying round not so kind to Cougars alumni

The qualifying round of the Stanley Cup playoffs are in the books, but the best of five round wasn’t so kind to Cougars alumni

Four of the five former Cats were eliminated in the Qualifying round.

Brett Conolly and the Panthers ousted in 4 games by the Islanders.

Jansen Harkers and the Jets were eliminated by the Flames in 4 games.

Dan Hamhuis and the Nashville Predators were upset by the Arizona Coyotes in 4 games.

Finally, Sunday night, Martin Marincin and the Toronto Maple Leafs were eliminated in 5 games by the Columbus Blue Jackets.

The only Cougars alumni advancing to the round of 16 is Zdeno Chara and the Boston Bruins, who went 0-3 in the round-robin and will play the Carolina Hurricanes in the first round beginning on Tuesday.
