RDBN approves purchase of Trout Creek Property

SMITHERS — A popular spot for decades will be secured for public use for years to come. The Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako approved the purchase of the Trout Creek Property located at 25049 Highway 16 W, roughly 20km west of Smithers.

“This is a valuable acquisition that will secure the historical recreational values of the area and has the potential for a multiple of public uses into the future. I look forward to the engagement process as we define the uses that are desired by the region for this property,” said Mark Fisher, Electoral Area “A” Director, in a statement.

A public consultation process of future development and use of the property moving forward will take place in the near future, according to the RDBN.
