Motorcyclist in ‘serious’ condition following head-on crash

QUESNEL — The driver of a motorcycle is in serious condition following a head-on crash in Quesnel.

Sgt. Richard Weseen says it happened Thursday morning just before 10:30 a.m. on the Moffat Bridge.

“A motorcycle was traveling east on Anderson Drive in the slow lane and passed a garbage truck that was in the fast lane. After the rider passed the truck, he lost control of the motorcycle and collided head on with an SUV that was travelling west on the bridge deck.”

He says the collision closed the bridge for over an hour as emergency crews attended the scene.

“The driver of the motorcycle was transported to GR Baker Memorial Hospital in serious condition. The driver of the SUV was not injured,” adds Weseen.
