RCMP ask for public’s assistance in identifying owner of ball cap in alleged sexual assault

DAWSON CREEK—RCMP are reaching out the public in the hope they will be able to help identify an article of clothing left behind by a suspect involved in an alleged sexual assault.
Dawson Creek RCMP say that on August 15, at 3:30 a.m., the victim was walking alone in the area of 5th street and 100B Avenue, in Dawson Creek, when she was attacked by an unknown male. The male dragged the victim into a nearby bushed area and proceeded to sexually assault her. The victim was able to get away and call for help.
Dawson Creek RCMP say that the man is described as:
- white male
- short in height
- dark beard and mustache
- wore a unique ball cap
