VICTORIA—139 new cases of COVID-19 in B.C.
That’s the highest single-day surge in cases in the province since the start of the pandemic.
In the north 10 new cases of COVID-19 were reported, for a total of 203 test-positive cases.
No new deaths were reported, the provincial death toll remains at 213. 1,412 cases are active in B.C., across all health authorities, 44 of those are in hospital and of those 14 are in ICU. In the Northern Health Authority there are 7 people in hospital.

Dr. Henry emphasized the importance of continuing to find our balance between doing the things we need to do to keep the Province going and keeping loved ones safe.
No new health care or community outbreaks were reported. In total 773 people have been affected in health-care, of those 466 are residents, and 295 are staff. 3,109 people are under active public health monitoring for being exposed to COVID-19. There are now a total of 6,830 test-positive cases of COVID-19 in B.C. since the start of the pandemic.

Minister Dix levelled with British Columbians, saying that he understands many may be tired of COVID-19 and the “new normal,” but that British Columbians must continue to show resilience in the face of a pandemic.
