132 new cases of COVID-19 in B.C., one more in Northern Health

VICTORIA — There are 132 new cases of COVID-19 in British Columbia,including one more in Northern Health according to Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry and B.C. Health Minister Adrian Dix.

There are 1,461 active cases of the virus and 3,198 people who are under active public health monitoring.

Forty-nine people are hospitalized, 10 of whom are in intensive care.

No new deaths with the provincial death toll remaining at 213.

Here’s the regional breakdown of cases:

Vancouver Coastal Health: 2,419

Fraser Health: 3,600

Island Health: 190

Interior Health: 465

Northern Health: 204

People who reside outside of Canada: 84

“In the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, our strength – as a province, as communities and as individual people – has been in all of us working together as one,” says Henry and Dix in a joint statement.

“We know COVID-19 has not been without challenge and loss. But we are working each day to find the balance of keeping new cases low and slow to protect those who are most vulnerable, while keeping our communities going.”
