First COVID-19 death in Northern Health: 317 new cases in B.C.

Today (Sept.14), 12 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Northern Health. Provincially, 317 new cases were announced, including four epi-linked cases.

There are 1,594 active cases of the virus, in all health authorities—with 28 in Northern Health—and 3,047 people who are under active monitoring for potential exposure to the virus. The province’s total of COVID-19 cases is now at 7,279.

No new health care outbreaks in the province and there are four that have been declared over in both, Vancouver Coastal Health and Fraser Health regions. In total 471 health care residents have been diagnosed with COVID-19 and 320 staff.

58 people are in hospital across B.C., and 16 are in ICU. Seven people are in hospital in the Northern Health Authority, at this time, 23 people have been hospitalized since the start of the pandemic in the north.

In total 5,446 people have recovered from the virus in B.C.
