“Our team has been busy throughout the Covid-19 period providing services to members. Our department outgrew our current Health Center a couple of years ago,” says Tamara Seymour, Health Center Manager.

The new four-million-dollar centre is just one of the big plans for the area.

“With this whole health centre, it’s helping the community build as well. So we’re starting to build the community up. As you’ve seen, we have the small houses that are starting to be built. Our age demographic is the older,” he says. “As BC had their report on how First nations have been treated in the health care system and how it hasn’t been a good time. We’ve known this the whole time. So having our own health care system is great for us.”

The centre is expected to be completed late next year.
