PG Golf & Curling Club prepping for end of season

While there hasn’t been many positives in sports in 2020 due to Covid-19, one sport that has actually benefited from the pandemic has been golf.

Sadly though, the season is coming to an end and now courses are gearing up for the winter as they close shop for the year.

Golfers won’t have many days to hit the links. Some courses have already shut down for the year and for Prince George Golf & Curling Club they will be open for one more week and will be closed following Thanksgiving.

“Our board has made a decision to do a hard close on the Monday after Thanksgiving,” stated GM of the PG Golf & Curling Club Don McDermid.

This will help the course do some much-needed upgrades to their aeration system and prep the course for winter.

Overall, it has been a great season for golf in the City of Prince George and at the Golf & Curling club they saw a significant increase in golfers this year and due to the warmer fall, they have seen a steady amount of people continue to hit the links.

Despite the season coming to an end, they are hopeful that next year they can get off to an early start and see golfers back at the course in droves come 2021.
