NBCCS adapting to new rules, regulations, and limited ice time

While both skaters and coaches are excited to be back on the ice for the Northern BC Centre for Skating, everyone has been getting used to a number of different changes.

“Right now we are only running 3 days a week,” shared Director of Competitive Development for NBCCS Andrea Ludditt.

“Everything is scaled back immensely, but we are back on the ice.”

Some of that scaling back involves their CanSkate. Last year they had more than 100 kids signed up for CanSkate, but due to Covid-19 restrictions, they can only have 19 and from 4 sessions down to 1.

However, one of the positives for all of the on ice user groups is the announcement of the RMCA and CN Centre re-opening up which should allow more ice times.

At this time no competitions are scheduled for skaters in 2020, and as of right now they are crossing their fingers that there could hopefully be some scheduled in early 2021.
