Dispute between friends in Smithers leaves one man with serious injuries

SMITHERS—A dispute between friends left one person in hospital in early October.

Smithers RCMP say that on October 3 at around 8:07 a.m. they received a report of a disturbance at the Riverside Trailer Park.

When they arrived Mounties located two men outside the home, one suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim told police that he had accidentally shot himself, but further investigation led RCMP to determine that that was not the case. He was taken to hospital with serious injuries. Police took the second man into custody without incident.
