Legion to be closed on Remembrance Day, service to be livestreamed
PRINCE GEORGE – It will be a Remembrance Day like no other.
For the first time in the Royal Canadian Legion’s 95-year history, Canadians are being asked not to attend Remembrance Day services across the country.
In Prince George, the annual Remembrance Day ceremony hosted by Legion Branch 43 at the cenotaph outside city hall will be closed to the public this year due to COVID-19 guidelines. However, starting at 10:30 a.m., CKPG-TV will present combined pre-recorded and live presentation, while at around 10:40 a.m., on November 11th, the live outdoor ceremony will be streamed through Blake Productions’ YouTube channel and through the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 43’s Facebook page.
