Jim Pattison Broadcast Group wins BCAB for Spirit Day coverage

PRINCE GEORGE — A big honour for the Jim Pattison Broadcast Group.

The British Columbia Association of Broadcasters (BCAB) today announced that The River and The Drive have been awarded its Community Service Award (Radio) for small and medium size markets for its Spirit Day coverage in 2019.

Spirit Day 2019 raised money to support mental health initiatives, specifically for a calming room at UHNBC.

The main purpose of the calming room is to provide a gentle option for mental escape in a safe and secure environment. Benefits of a calming room include increasing the ability for patients to self-nurture, increasing the ability for patients to engage in social activities, and helping patients deal with triggers they may have.
