Guns and drugs seized following curfew check

HOUSTON — An adult male has been arrested following a curfew check in northwest B.C.

North District RCMP Cpl. Madonna Saunderson says on Nov.18, Smithers RCMP were conducting a curfew check from an investigation in Houston B.C. in September 2020.

“While conducting the curfew check on the individual, police saw a firearm in the residence,” says Cpl. Madonna Saunderson. “One of the conditions from the investigation from Houston was a firearms prohibition. The adult man was arrested and police obtained a search warrant.”

She says during the search, police located four firearms, one of which was loaded and several grams of suspected fentanyl and methamphetamine.
