Kings hoping to continue momentum of last year’s Show Home sell out

It wasn’t all doom and gloom for the Prince George Spruce Kings this off-season with Covid-19.

Despite the uncertainty of the season, the club was able to continue a couple of traditions which saw some great success.

This includes the Show Home lottery, which sold out for the very first time.

” It’s our lifeblood. There is no doubt about it. As a community owned team, we rely on it heavily. Without it, there are no Spruce Kings,” stated General Manager Mike Hawes to CKPG.

Despite the success of the Show Home lottery last year, there was some concern when they were forced to move ticket sales strictly to online once Covid-19 restrictions started to be put in place.

“We weren’t sure how it was going to go, but we probably sold more tickets that way and sure did alleviate some of the stress we had.”

Ticket sales for the Kings Show Home lottery this year went on sale just last week.

Another yearly tradition which the Spruce Kings were able to do was their annual hockey school, which is something they were extremely happy they could do considering the circumstances of this year and give young hockey players in Prince George some ice time in the summer.
