Council meetings closed to public due to Ministerial Orders

Dec 6, 2020 | 10:17 AM

PRINCE GEORGE – Regular City Council meetings will be closed to the public once again.

This comes following recent Ministerial Orders from the Province of BC requiring that, effective immediately, local governments, including the City of Prince George, restrict members of the public from attending meetings of Council in person.

On December 2nd, the Provincial Health Officer released an order pertaining to gatherings and events. On Friday (Dec. 4), the province provided clarity to that Order, requiring local governments to change how meetings and public hearings are conducted.

Monday’s meeting, as well as the meeting for the Finance and Audit Committee, will proceed as scheduled. Members of the public, including media, may not attend in-person.
