PRINCE GEORGE — Focused drug enforcement by the RCMP has led to “a signficant disruption to the drug trafficking trade and organized crime in Prince George.”

Those are the words of RCMP Sgt. Chad Chamberlain of the Prince George Street Crew following the execution of search warrants last week. The warrants helped dismantle two drug operations and seized a variety of suspected illegal drugs, cash and trucks.

It all started on Thursday Dec. 3 when Mounties, with support from the RCMP’s Emergency Response Team, executed four search warrants in the Prince George area.

“Police executed warrants at residences and located in the 200-block of Harper Street, the 700-block of Kingsley Crescent, on Iona Street near Old Summit Lake Road and on Marlin Drive in Salmon Valley. Police arrested seven people, many of whom have links to organized crime,” says Prince George RCMP Cst. Jennifer Cooper.

“At one site, police seized suspected cocaine packaged for resale, suspected steroids and prescription pills including Adderol, Cialis and Xaanax.”

She says at another property, police uncovered steel shipping containers in an underground bunker tunneled into a hillside. Inside the bunker, police located an active psilocybin production grow operation; a cannabis oil extraction lab with commercial equipment and processing station; and a commercial grade packaging area for the illicit sale of cannabis, shatter and edibles. Police also found Advent Calendars produced for the distribution of illicit cannabis products.

Cooper says police also searched a third location, which was laid out like a pharmacy, offering products such as suspected cocaine, prescription medications and illicit cannabis products, in addition to a processing station for the cutting and re-packaging of cocaine for later sale.

In total, she says police seized approximately 1.5 kilograms of cocaine, an abundance of prescription pills, hundred of doses of steroids and thousands of does of GHB, along with $35,600 in cash, a Dodge Ram 1500 and a 2020 GMC Canyon Denali. Estimates suggest that the cannabis extraction lab and the production and sale of psilocybin generate hundreds of thousands of dollars in revenue annually.
