500 new cases of COVID-19 in B.C., 35 in Northern Health

PRINCE GEORGE — Five hundred new cases of COVID-19 in BC, 35 in Northern Health.

Here’s the regional breakdown:

  • Vancouver Coastal Health: 125
  • Fraser Health: 216
  • Island Health: 32
  • Interior Health: 91
  • Northern Health: 35

There are 4,345 active cases of the virus, 320 people are in hospital, 66 of whom are in intensive care.

Sadly 14 new Covid-19 related deaths, bringing B.C.’s death toll to 1,104.

The number of British Columbians vaccinated has reached 98,125.

“Our COVID-19 curve is trending in the right direction, and we want to keep that going – to push our curve down, which in turn, will allow us to safely ease restrictions,” says Health Minister Adrian Dix and Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry.

“We thank everyone for continuing to do their part to stop the spread in our communities and helping all of us to get to the finish line faster. With each day that we follow the public health measures, our communities and our loved ones are safer. Let’s keep going.”
