PRINCE GEORGE – Twenty-two sports organizations in Northern British Columbia will be receiving financial support from the Province’s $1.5-million Local Sport Relief Fund.
Of those, 11 are situated within the City of Prince George. Those receiving support locally are:
- Nechako Karate Club
- Northern Adapted Sports Association
- Northern BC Centre for Skating Association
- Prince George Canoe and Kayak Club
- Prince George Horse Society
- Prince George Recreation Hockey League
- Prince George Ringette Association
- Prince George Ski Club
- Prince George Track and Field Club
- Prince George Youth Rugby Association
- Prince George Youth Soccer Association
With the financial strain presented to many local sports clubs throughout British Columbia, many sport clubs and organizations are at risk of closure. However, the Local Sport Relief Fund is designed to provide aid while organizations have been hit with limited ability to offer their programming, as well as fundraise to cover expenses. A total of 288 organizations will be supported by the Local Sport Relief Fund.
