55 new cases of COVID-19 in Northern Health

PRINCE GEORGE — British Columbia’s provincial government announced 508 new cases of COVID-19 in B.C. Friday, 55 in Northern Health.

That brings the total number of cases in B.C. since the pandemic began to 63,484, 56,455 of those people have recovered.

Here’s the regional breakdown of cases:

  • Vancouver Coastal Health: 132
  • Fraser Health: 228
  • Island Health: 13
  • Interior Health: 79
  • Northern Health: 55

There are just 4,479 active cases of the virus province-wide, 325 people are in hospital, 74 of whom are in intensive care.

Nine new deaths bringing the provincial death toll to 1,128.

To date, 110,556 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in BC, 2,202 of which are second doses.
