9-1-1 In The Northern Rockies

Fort Nelson- After a decade of testing, and dealing with a range of issues and financial obstacles, the Northern Rockies regional municipality has announced their 9-1-1 services are now fully activated.

So, what does this mean for the community of Fort Nelson? residents can now dial 9-1-1 to access all emergency services using either landline or cell phones.

Working with the Grande Prairie fire department, calls will be processed through them and transferred to the appropriate emergency services.

With the support of the province and in partnership with Northwestel, Telus, and Bell mobility the municipality was able to complete the project in a timely manner.
