PRINCE GEORGE – Last month we saw large parts of the country under lockdown in an effort to curb rising COVID-19 numbers.
As expected, we paid the price on the jobs front with the economy losing 213,000 jobs in January. The national unemployment rate climbed to 9.4 per cent last month from 8.6 percent in December.
B.C.’s unemployment rate climbed to 8 percent last month from 7.2 the previous month. The numbers in PG however, moved in the opposite direction, with the unemployment rate at 6.8 percent last month ,down from 7.6 in December.
