Alex Evin plans to maintain Spruce Kings momentum of developing D-1 players
PRINCE GEORGE – At 33 years of age, Prince George Spruce Kings head coach Alex Evin has himself a lengthy resume for a hockey coach.
Moving from the crease to behind the bench after his college career in the NCAA with the Colgate University Raiders, Evin has proven himself as a bench boss and it was proven in last week’s announcement that he would be the man for the Spruce Kings for another two years.
During the 2014-2015 season, Evin moved from being the head coach of Selkirk College in the BC Intercollegiate Hockey League to being the goaltending coach for the Alberni Valley Bulldogs, later being promoted to assistant coach, before eventually finding his way to Prince George in 2017, serving as an associate coach under Adam Maglio, before being promoted to head coaching duties following Maglio’s departure for the WHL’s Spokane Chiefs.
