COVID-19 outbreak declared over at UHNBC’s Internal Medicine Unit

PRINCE GEORGE — Some good news on the Covid-19 front here locally in the City of Prince George.

Northern Health has officially declared the outbreak at the Internal Medicine Unit at the University Hospital of Northern BC in Prince George over.

Since the outbreak was declared December 29, 21 patients along with 12 staff members tested positive for Covid-19, as well as nine deaths.

There have been no new lab-confirmed cases related to the outbreak since January 12.

Northern Health will continue to monitor and follow up on the lab confirmed cases from the outbreak at the ICU, along with the other outbreaks in the Health Region.
