Man charged with arson in Quesnel fire

QUESNEL — One person has been arrested after an occupied home was destroyed by fire in Quesnel.

Quesnel RCMP Sgt. Richard Weseen says on Feb. 8, police assisted the Quesnel Fire Department with a structure fire on the 500 block of Anderson Drive.

“When emergency crews arrived, they found the home fully engulfed in flames. Fire investigators determined the fire was an arson and had started at the back of the residence.

“A suspect of the arson was identified during the police investigation. It was also learned that the suspect had stolen a laptop and cash from the residence.”
