DAWSON CREEK — Two people have been arrested following a break and enter in Dawson Creek.

S/Sgt. Damon Werrell says it all started when police were dispatched to a break and enter alarm at a business at approximately 12:10 a.m. on Feb.7.

“Aided by on-duty security guards, responding officers were directed to the last known location of a suspect. A foot-chase ensued, with officers chasing after one suspect, finally catching him after several blocks at which time he was arrested.

“Police Service Dog “Hammer”, accompanied by Cst. Qualstrom, were then called to the scene. Hammer successfully tracked the second male and within minutes located him hiding nearby, at which time he was also arrested.”

He says an investigation revealed that the suspects had cut a hole in a chain link fencing, through which they gained access to the business property.

As a result of the investigation, 45-year old Mark Roth faces charges of break and enter, mischief, and possession of counterfeit money.

And 28-year-old Jared Holland faces charges of break and enter, mischief, possession of break-in tools, and possession of counterfeit money

Both Roth and Holland made their first court appearance on February 8.
