KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops Blazers game against Kelowna has been postponed Tuesday night (Mar. 30) after a member of the Rockets team bubble tested positive for COVID-19.

In a news release, the Western Hockey League says all Rockets team activities have been suspended.

Tuesday night’s game was scheduled to take place in Kelowna.

The Giants travelled to the Kelowna bubble to play the Rockets on Sunday, a 6-0 Vancouver win.

Currently, the Rockets’ next game is scheduled to be against the Prince George Cougars on Friday (April 2). The league has not made any statement with regards to whether or not that game will be played.

Back on March 2nd, the league announced the approval for the BC Division to begin its season with the two hubs established in Kamloops and Kelowna. In that same release, it was stated:

“If a WHL Club has one or more players or staff test positive for COVID-19 at any point in the season, the Club will be required to suspend its Club activities for a minimum of 14 days.”

The WHL says it is working with B.C. health authorities on the matter.
