McBride hoping to become 2021 Western Canadian ‘Sledtown ShowDown’ champ

MCBRIDE – Although the snow is melting the competition is only heating up in McBride in the ‘Sledtown Showdown’.

McBride has clinched the provincial title and now heads for the Western Canadian Championship facing Manitoba.

The polls are open online for the 7th annual version of the competition online on the SnoRidersWest website which has never seen one municipality win the Western Canadian title more than twice.

The winner will take home bragging rights, a trophy, and featured articles on the snowmobiling website.

McBride was named the BC champion for the 3rd time, having won in 2018, 2020, and 2021. The village was also the Western Canadian champion back in 2018.

During Round four, McBride (2,374 votes, 61%) outperformed Revelstoke (1,534 votes, 39%)

For Round three, McBride (1,023 votes, 59%) took down the 2015 provincial champion, Valemount (700 votes, 41%),
