BURNS LAKE — The Cluculz Lake Volunteer Fire Department (CLVFD) will soon be breaking ground on a new home.

The Regional District of Bulkley Nechako says the new 2,400 square foot Fire Hall will be constructed adjacent to the Cluculz Lake Community Hall. The fire hall is expected to increase response times, as well as providing an adequate location to conduct weekly training.

Thanks to funding through the Northern Capital and Planning Grant, this project will not lead to tax hike for residents in the area.

On March 25, the Regional District of Bulkley Nechako (RDBN) Board of Directors authorized staff to negotiate and enter into a construction contract with Viking Construction Ltd. as the successful proponent for the Cluculz Lake Fire Hall. Construction of the new facility will commence in early summer and should be completed by the fall of 2021.
