WILLIAMS LAKE, B.C. — RCMP in Williams Lake had an eventful Friday morning after responding to a gunfire report.

The report came in about 9:30 a.m. from the area of Dog Creek Road and Bond Lake Road. The caller reported a woman was firing a long gun near homes in the area.

Officers responding, quickly finding a Jeep associated to the report on a trail with several homes nearby.

The driver of the Jeep drove away, and as officers followed, they noticed a woman in the passenger seat appearing to point a long gun out the window and aim it at a target.

The Mounties responded by using their vehicle to contact the Jeep, which stopped a short time later.

The driver was arrested and the passengers, who were all legally children, were returned to their mother.

RCMP say the driver is being held in custody pending a court appearance, with possible firearms and impaired driving charges.
