Coroners Service investigating crash on Highway 97 south of 150 Mile House

KAMLOOPS —Update: UPDATE: Williams Lake RCMP discovered a red Camaro in the ditch, on its roof, and the driver a few meters from the car.

The driver, a 62-year-old Williams Lake man, had been ejected from the vehicle and was deceased at the scene.

Earlier: B.C. Coroners Service confirmed they’re investigating a death following a crash on Highway 97 near Maze Lake Road south of 150 Mile House Friday (June 6).

Ryan Panton, B.C. Coroners Service manager of strategic communications and media relations, said they’re unable to provide further details as the investigation remains open.

Emergency Health Services said three ground units and one air unit were dispatched to the scene when they received the call at 3 p.m., but no patients were transported to local hospitals. Drive B.C. said the highway re-opened Friday at 8 p.m.
