Seventy of those cases were in Vancouver Coastal Health, 135 in Fraser Health, nine in Island Health and 101 in Interior Health.

Gustafson said 199 people are now hospitalized, the lowest number since back in November, 63 of whom are in intensive care.

She said the vaccination rate continues to climb, with 74 per cent of adults 18 and over now having at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, and 72 per cent of those aged 12 and older.

Sadly, 12 more deaths bringing B.C.’s death toll to 1,722.

Gustafson also reminded everyone that AstraZeneca bookings and second shots begin today at pharmacies across BC.
