3 new cases of COVID-19 in Northern Health as step 2 of B.C. restart plan begins

PRINCE GEORGE – For the second time in a week, Northern Health has reported less than five new cases of COVID-19 within 24 hours.

The province has added 108 new cases of the virus in total, along with no new deaths related to the virus.

76.1% of all adults in B.C. and 74.4% of those 12 and older have received their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.

There are currently 1,496 active cases of COVID-19 in the province, as 139 people are in hospital, and 39 are in intensive care due to the virus.

Tuesday marked the start of step 2 of BC’s restart plan which lifted restrictions on gatherings up to 50 people, allowing high-intensity fitness classes, and extended the last call for alcohol to midnight.
