Missing 60-year-old kayaker presumed drowned

WELLS —A 60-year-old Alberta man is presumed drowned after failing to arrive at the Isaac Falls portage site.

RCMP believe the man may have drowned after going over the Isaac Falls.

Wells RCMP were notified the man was missing Tuesday after he last seen kayaking on the Bowron Lake Chain.

“Park Rangers and Search and Rescue attended the remote location to search for the missing man,” says Cpl. Madonna Saunderson. “SAR Swift Water Rescue attended the site and located the kayak and life jacket, however the search efforts for locating the man has been unsuccessful.”
