76.2% of British Columbians 12 and older have received at least one COVID-19 shot

VICTORIA — The number of fully vaccinated British Columbians continues to increase.

Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry and Health Minister Adrian Dix say that 77.6 per cent of all adults in B.C. and 76.2 per cent of those 12 and older have now received their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.

In addition, 26.9 per cent of all adults in B.C. and 25.2 per cent of those 12 and older have received their second dose. In total, 4,703,549 doses of vaccines have been administered in B.C., 1,167,117 of which are second doses.

Henry and Dix say that there are 72 new cases of the virus in B.C.

Here’s the regional breakdown:

  • Vancouver Coastal Health: 24
  • Fraser Health: 29
  • Island Health: 4
  • Interior Health: 13
  • Northern Health: 2

The number of active cases has dropped slightly to 1,096 with 108 people in hospital, 37 of whom are in intensive care.

There are also many pop-up clinics in B.C., including in Prince George. Northern Health released these details today:

Prince George residents (age 12 and older) will have the opportunity to be immunized at a pop-up clinic available during the following dates and times in the Pine Centre Mall at the old Le Chateau location.

· Saturday June 26 – 12:00pm – 4:00pm

· Saturday July 10 – 12:00pm – 4:00pm

· Thursday July 15 – 12:00pm – 4:00pm

· Friday July 16 – 12:00pm – 4:00pm

· Saturday July 17 – 12:00pm – 4:00pm

· Sunday July 18 – 12:00pm – 4:00pm

This clinic is for first dose only. Registration is recommended, no appointment necessary. Clinic times may vary based on volume and supply.
